Preparations for the launch of the new electronic tolling system in Slovakia are entering their final phase. This overview of key dates will help hauliers understand when vehicle registration will start, when the new on-board units will be available and from when the new toll system will be used to pay tolls.
1 October 2026
The initial information campaign on the changes to the electronic tolling system from 1 January 2027 begins. From this date, a common landing page is available at the address familiar to hauliers, www.emyto.sk, from which users can choose to enter either the current information portal or the information portal of the new Toll Services Provider. Information about the upcoming changes and the operation of the new toll system will be added to the new portal gradually. To support the campaign, a new customer line on +421 222 122 444 is also in operation from this date, intended for questions relating to the changes in the operation of the electronic tolling system and the upcoming registration of vehicles in the new system. For hauliers who need to use the services of the current electronic tolling system, its customer channels remain available as before: the current information portal and its customer zone, as well as the current customer line on +421 2 35 111 111.

In connection with the transition from the current to the new electronic tolling system and the need to re-register vehicles in the new system, detailed information on registration, which starts on 1 December 2026, will be made available on the new information portal. Customers will thus receive practical information in advance on the required documents, the new on-board units, the prepaid toll regime and payment options, toll account management, customer points and other customer services. This will allow them to prepare for registration in the new toll system in good time.
1 December 2026
Registration of vehicles in the new electronic tolling system of the Slovak Republic begins. Registration can be carried out online through the new My Toll customer zone on the portal www.emyto.sk or in person at selected customer points, a list of which will be available on the new information portal. Vehicles can also be registered through partner fuel card issuers. From this date, new on-board units can also be collected for registered vehicles. However, they can only be used to pay tolls from 1 January 2027.
31 December 2026
Until this date, the current Slovak electronic tolling system will remain in regular operation and its services will be provided to the same extent as before. Vehicle operators using the current electronic tolling system will therefore continue to use their current on-board units for journeys on the designated road sections until the end of the year. As of 31 December 2026, the post-paid toll regime will also be discontinued, based on a decision of Národná diaľničná spoločnosť (the National Motorway Company) as the Toll Collection Administrator.
1 January 2027
The new electronic tolling system goes live in Slovakia. It will be owned by Národná diaľničná spoločnosť as the Toll Collection Administrator. Toll services under the prepaid toll regime, including vehicle registration and the provision of new on-board units, will be provided by CzechToll as the Toll Services Provider. CzechToll will provide customer support through the information portal with the My Toll customer zone at www.emyto.sk, the customer line on +421 222 122 444 and the network of customer points, which will be fully operational from 1 January 2027. Before the first journey on the designated road sections in the new electronic tolling system, a vehicle subject to toll must be registered in this system and equipped with a new on-board unit.
Registering a vehicle in December does not mean that tolls will be paid in both systems. Until 31 December 2026, tolls continue to be paid through the current system using the current on-board units. The new system and the new on-board units will only be used to pay tolls from 1 January 2027.
